Activities are geared to enable guests to get the most out of their bushveld experience. Itineraries are usually custom designed to meet the guest’s requirements. Game viewing, bush walking and bird watching are the three main activities at Gwalagwala. Bird life is both prolific and varied and Gwalagwala have enhanced this experience by positioning bird hides at waterholes. Gwalagwala offers guests the opportunity of enjoying a safe walking safari. A Game Drive on a Big Five reserve is included in the daily itinerary (included in daily rates), which takes place on neighbouring Thornybush Game Reserve. The guests will be accompanied by a professional ranger, in open vehicles. All tents have large en suite bathrooms with a dressing room area. All are built on wooden platforms off the ground with verandas. All double tents have private bush seating areas. Bedrooms are insect proof and equipped with a fan, insect pads and repellents, torches, hairdryers and tea/coffee facilities.  In winter, heaters and electric blankets are provided. All linen and towels (including swimming towels) are provided, together with walking sticks and umbrellas.  Each tent has a refrigerator with mineral water and can be stocked to the guest’s specifications as a honesty bar.
